Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

I

t’s a celebration of hops this week. And their cousin plants too. But it’s not all dank and piney. We have several unique collaborations from in-state and international, more craft light lagers, and new spring/summer mixed packs to get you in the mood for outdoor weather.

Bauhaus has a new music lineup to be announced soon, and Sea Salt is open now. Get in line.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights the most tantalizing new beers available across the state that we’re most excited to try. Check out these Top Flights at Dabbler Depot—Click on each image for stock levels.

Lupulin Brewing Co. Unicorns Yes Imperial Fruited Sour Ale – Imperial Sour Ale with raspberry, orange, yuzu, guava, blackberry & passion fruit. Brewed in collaboration with Talking Waters, inspired by drawings from the brewers’ children. After all, unicorns are fantastic creatures that inspire wonder and imagination. 9% ABV

Drekker Brewing Co. At First Sight DIPA – At First Sight is a new double IPA collab with Moksa Brewing Company. At First Sight was brewed with three different forms of Citra – Citra Incognito, Cryo Citra, and hand-selected Citra pellets, with a little Idaho 7 for good measure. After, they fermented it using Berkeley London Tropics, a fun, new super thiolized yeast to really blast out that citrus flavor and aroma. 8.2 % ABV

Blackstack Brewing The Real World Citra QIPA – This is what happens when every form of Citra stops pulling punches… & starts getting real. The Real World Citra QIPA features hand-selected Citra, Citra Cryo, Citralicious Hopburst & Citra hop oil in aggressively overcrowded proportions. Find something out about yourself by getting lost in this sauce. 12% ABV

Phase Three Brewing Co. Niu Toasted Coconut Porter – Re-inspired by a recent trip to Hawaii, the recipe for Niu Toasted Coconut Porter has come full circle. Over a decade of experience combining coconut and beer as well as brewing dark beers, Phase Three brewed Niu to be a peek behind the curtain at Phase Three. Big, adjunct, dark beers are extremely labor intensive, involve a lot of planning, and unfortunately, don’t offer a lot of drinkability. Niu is 6.3% and is not meant to be a big pastry stout/porter, however, it’s not small. The base porter is light but uses full-flavored UK malted grains, including Maris Otter, crystal malts, and chocolate malts. It’s rich but refreshing. It satisfies a dark, adjunct beer craving but in a way where a pint of it is appropriate. 6.3% ABV

Bald Man Brewing Co. Seasons In The Sun Hefeweizen – A classic German Hefeweizen, this brew is delightfully effervescent with notes of banana and clove. We had joy, we had fun, and we had seasons in the sun. 5.3% ABV
