Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

W

elcome to the holiday season, in beer form. That means holiday spice, bourbon barreled-everything, and some nice malt-forward tones of caramel, toffee and even a bit of smoke this week. The styles run from sweet to dry and rich to refreshing, but they all fit the mood as we prepare to celebrate our varied traditions—including some Festivus beers on the horizon.

For those seeking something more hop-driven, hazies are plentiful, Fair State and Barrel Theory bring back a popular recipe, Surly demos their new taproom brew system, and Town Hall taps a historic English-style IPA.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights five of the most tantalizing new beers available around the great state of Minnesota that we’re most excited to try. Check out these Top Flights at Dabbler Depot—call for stock availability.
