Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

It’s summer BBQ season with all the fixin’s. Beers this week have notes of fruit salad, creamy potato, coriander-spiced gose, classic hefeweizen, and sweet strawberries and watermelon for dessert.

Those looking for light-bodied beers will be excited, though porters and Caribbean-style stout are also available to give a diverse sensory experience.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights five of the most tantalizing new beers that we’re most excited to try.

Bad Weather Brewing Company Heritage Lager #3: Wild Rice Pils – An homage to the 1986 James Page Brewing recipe, believed to be the first commercially brewed beer made with wild rice.

Dangerous Man Brewing Company Bru-Tang Sour – A sour ale with zesty and tart tangerines. And lots and lots of Tang. 5.8% ABV.

Steel Toe Brewing GiganticBery – A Midwest meets West Coast-style IPA made in collaboration with Hollingbery and Son Hops and Gigantic Brewing Company. The beer has notes of white grape and fruit salad, plus watermelon, pineapple, and tropical flavors for a dry-hop addition.

Torg Brewery Selkie Shade – “A deep, dark Caribbean stout ripe with dark sugars, molasses, and smooth roast flavors,” Torg says.
