Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

F

or some, holiday celebrations last as long as the tree is still up in the corner of the room. But for many, the calendar has finally turned, and holiday excess is over. Dry January hits the scene by storm this week, including several local non-alcoholic options from NA beer to hop water on tap across the state, in liquor stores, and elsewhere. After all, no beer doesn’t mean no taprooms.

The beer scene is continually growing more diverse locally and nationally, and it’s evident this week as much as ever. Lager styles like Pilsner and dunkel are plentiful, offering sessionable options for moderate consumption with classic styles nodding to Belgian, English, and German roots leading many of the latest Freshies on the market.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights the most tantalizing new beers available across the state that we’re most excited to try. Due to inclement weather, the list is a little drier than usual this week—pun intended.
