Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

T

here are a few throwback styles mixed into Freshies this week alongside the new crafty seltzers, fruited ales, THC drinks, summer s’mores and more. It’s another week until the Minnesota State Fair begins, which offers some of the state’s most creative beers. This time around we have a healthy mix of cucumber gose, POG drinks and even multiple brown ale sightings.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights five of the most tantalizing new beers available around the great state of Minnesota that we’re most excited to try. Top Flight beers are not necessarily available for purchase at Dabbler Depot–call for availability.

Bauhaus Brew Labs Dampf Punk – This is a Bavarian-style dampfbier at 4.8% ABV, 15 IBU, pouring copper in color with light malt tones and banana and clove-like flavors from the use of hefeweizen yeast.

Dangerous Man Brewing Company Cucumber Cooler Hard Seltzer – A seltzer made with cucumber, lemon, lime, and local honey. 6% ABV.

Oliphant Brewing Festbier – It’s Oktoberfest in Somerset (and area liquor stores).

Ursa Minor Brewing Pink Lady Slipper – “A kettle sour that has been matured on a blend of locally foraged grapes and aronia. It even has some rosé wine characteristic,” says Ursa Minor.

Venn Brewing Company No One Cares – The brown ale with the tongue-in-cheek name is back.
