The Chippewa National Forest is a forest of half water! More lakes and wetlands than any national forest in the country, one of the highest numbers of nesting bald eagles in the lower 48 and a wide variety of year-round recreation for the whole family! Twenty-three developed campgrounds, 200 backcountry sites, 290 miles of hiking trails, 900 miles of river and three of the largest lakes in the state make the Chippewa a fantastic place to visit.
