Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

I

t’s a big week in local sports. The Vikings host a playoff game, the Twins signed Carlos Correa and, perhaps most importantly, Utepils has a new lager inspired by the sport of curling. While this beer is light and easy to drink, brand new Freshies for the week are heavy on foggy IPAs (just like our recent weather), with a dose of coffee beers and pastry-style offerings, too.

For those seeking to get out, Gambit Brewing Company has opened in Lowertown Saint Paul. And even if you’re midway through a successful Dry January, taprooms still offer plenty of house-made non-alcoholic beers, sodas, seltzers, coffees, and kombuchas.

Each week, the Beer Dabbler team highlights the most tantalizing new beers available across the state that we’re most excited to try. Check out these Top Flights at Dabbler Depot—Click on each image for stock levels.

Tank 8 Ninjas Leave No Trace Oat Cream Ale – This New England hazy IPA was double dry-hopped with Amarillo, Citra, and Mosaic hops and fortified with lactose for a smooth, creamy sip. 6.2% ABV.

Lupulin NA CPB Porter – Like most peanut butter cups, it’s impossible to stop after one. This American Porter layers flavors of rich chocolate and peanut butter.

Falling Knife Dino Holiday Pina Colada Pale Ale – An American IPA with earthy hops and notes of coconut and pineapple, just like a classic piña colada. 6.8% ABV.

Labatt Big Deal Golden Ale – Labatt and Barstool Sports’ Spittin’ Chiclets have brewed a smooth, crisp golden ale that pairs well with watching just about any hockey game. 4.5% ABV.

Phase Three Collab Black Bouquet DDH DIPA – Brewed in collaboration with BlackStack Brewing, this double dry-hopped double India pale ale was brewed with Idaho 7, Mosaic,  Strata, and Talus hops. 8.0% ABV.

Correction: Lupulin’s NA CPB Porter is a non-alcoholic option, not 5.25% ABV as originally listed.
