Welcome to Beer Dabbler’s Freshies, our weekly rundown on the newest beers hitting the store shelves and taproom coolers in Minnesota from your favorite local and national breweries.

ith special Friday taps, Saturday’s upcoming Lager Fest in Alexandria, Father’s Day on Sunday, and Juneteenth on Monday, it’s a busy weekend with many celebrations, and naturally, beer is the celebratory drink for all of them.

Beyond the new dank and/or hazy IPAs, we also see a variety of lighter, fruitier styles heavy on grape and berry-like flavors. Listed in detail below, new Italian-style Pilsners, saisons, and more are flowing with crisp, clean, and refreshing tones for whatever occasions you’re celebrating.

Wild State Strawberry Kiwi Cider 4pk 12oz – This cider funds scholarships to Camp Brave Trails, a leadership-focused summer camp helping LGBTQ+ youth find their people, their place, and their passion. Juicy & tart semi-dry cider, infused with fresh strawberry & kiwi. 6.2% ABV

Broken Clock Glitter Crash Blonde Ale 4pk 16oz – This blonde ale has a dry, medium body with a nice light malty sweetness and minimal hop bitterness with almost 100 lbs of fresh strawberry puree and vanilla. 6.1% ABV 

Spiral Sour Kinni Fruited Sour Ale 4pk 16oz  Sour Kinni is a deliciously refreshing fruited American sour ale perfect for any occasion. 4.7% ABV

  • Zombie Ice – Double pale ale, available in cans.

Arbeiter Brewing

  • Arby Lime – Haus Bier lager with lime for the summer season. 
  • Figurati – An Italian-style Pilsner, back on tap as of Memorial Day weekend.
  • GuavaVoom – At 4.9% ABV, 29 IBU, “A subtle sweet guava and the rose-like floral bitterness from the hibiscus a top at lovely fluffy mouthfeel, with a coriander-pepper finish,” Arbeiter says of this charitable beer brewed for Twin Cities Pride, RECLAIM !, and Gender Justice.
  • Your Opacity – The house hazy IPA, this time with notes of pineapple and citrus from a hopping cocktail of YQH 1320, Bru-1, and Sultana.

Badger Hill Brewing Company

  • Merry Barry – Boysenberry, black currant, and pomegranate, all in one fruited sour ale with sweet, jammy, and berry flavors.

Bear Cave Brewing

  • Dad Bod – A Helles-style lager at 5.2% ABV, 18 IBU, brewed for Father’s Day.
  • THC: Mango – On tap at the brewery now.

Clutch Brewing

  • Reclaim! – A Juneteenth collaboration with Black Brewers Podcast, with a release party today from 6-11 pm.

Dangerous Man Brewing Company

  • Jungle Cat Barrel-Aged – Available in bottles today.

Dual Citizen Brewing Co.

  • TBD – A 22 Northmen collaboration for Saturday’s 2023 Minnesota Craft Lager Fest in Alexandria, “We brewed up one awesome kolsch using a unique brewing method (yes, we’re looking at you cool ship) and local ingredients (we’re talking malt from a family farm just 60 miles away),” Dual Citizen teases of this one-off.

Fair State Brewing Cooperative

  • Serious Leisure – Back on tap as of Thursday.

Fargo Brewing Company

  • Golden Hour – A sour ale with tangerine and sweet, juicy papaya. “Soft floral blooms fill the aroma with sharp bursts of zesty citrus for a flavor-filled light-bodied mouthfeel with a dry and tart finish,” says Fargo Brewing.

Fat Pants Brewing Co.

  • Blue Beered – The blueberry lager is back.

Firestone Walker Brewing Company

  • Another Life – Sold in cans in the IPA mixed pack, this new cold IPA offers notes of citrus, pine, pineapple, and watermelon.
  • Mystic Shadows – Nelson Sauvin, Rakau, Moutere, and Motueka hops come together for notes of gummy bear, raspberry, and kiwi in this IPA sold in an IPA mixed pack.

Fulton Brewing

A new series of Fulton IPAs is out under the Hop Kingdom domain, with art by Brent Schoonover.

HeadFlyer Brewing

  • Dreamshake – Made with milk sugar, orange zest, and vanilla bean, this is a citrus-forward milkshake-style IPA at 7.0% ABV.
  • Fancy Baby – A kettle sour made with Pinot Noir grapes, elderberry, and Aronia berries for tart and semi-sweet flavors in a sessionable 4.5% ABV package.
  • Strawberry Whip – A milkshake-like cream ale made with strawberry puree. 5.4% ABV, 0 IBU.

Keepsake Cidery

  • Sea Salt  – On draft only at Sea Salt in Minneapolis, this is a spontaneously fermented cider blend of barrel-aged Dabinett, Keepsake, Chestnut, and organic dessert apples like Wickson, Regent, Liberty, and Northern Spy.

Lake Monster Brewing

  • Blood Orange Citrus IPA – A seasonal fruit-forward IPA with a creamy body, but tropical fruit aromas, and blood orange puree.
  • The Serpent – “This farmhouse-style ale has been highly anticipated and was brewed with unique European barley, and American wheat, and fermented with Belgian yeast for a rich flavor with a dry finish,” the brewery says of its 6.3% ABV saison that tapped in May.

Lakeside Tavern & Brewery

  • Peachin’ Blonde – The house blonde ale with a fruity twist.

Lakeville Brewing Co.

  • Shay’s Hope – “A delicious Blood Orange Hazy IPA! We donate a portion of our sales to JDRF, which supports Type 1 Diabetes,” the brewpub says.

Lift Bridge Brewing Company

  • World’s Greatest Dad – This coffee blonde ale connects the family ties between Outstate Brewing (Fergus Falls), Lift Bridge, and Spyhouse Coffee (Minneapolis).

Little Thistle Brewing

  • Foreign Culture Watermelon Sour – The taproom-exclusive sour ale is tart and fruity.

Sisyphus Brewing

  • Bottlecap Session – A session IPA at 5% ABV, described as a toned-down version of Bottlecap Mosaic IPA.

Steel Toe Brewing

  • Blood Orange Size – A juicy, fruited take on the Steel Toe flagship IPA. 7.0% ABV.
  • Sommer – Vice A 5.9% ABV hefeweizen.

StormKing Brewpub & Barbecue

  • Max Haze – A 6.9% ABV, 44 IBU hazy IPA, its latest variation is made with Azacca, Citra, and BRU-1 hops for flavors of orange juice, citrus, peach, and pineapple.
  • Thor’s Hammer – Tapped in May, this 8.2% ABV, 40 IBU double IPA has notes of citrus, tropical and stone fruit, and blueberry.
  • Tiamat’s Tail – A Kolsch-style ale, dry-hopped like an Italian-style Pilsner and brewed as a cream ale, Tiamat’s Tail comes in at 5.2% ABV, 23 IBU with notes of citrus and berry with a crisp finish.

Torg Brewery

  • P.O.G. Seltzer – On tap.
  • Sandfairy Tea Seltzers – Also back at the brewery.

Wabasha Brewing Company

  • Cabin Classic – “[A] timeless, simplistic American-style ale,” the brewery says.

Waldmann Brewery

  • Edel Helles –  “A refined version of the traditional Helles style (“Edel” means noble or princely), using heirloom grains including Weyermann Isaria 1924, the oldest certified brewing barley in Germany. The sweetness of the Isaria is delicately balanced with Tettnanger and Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, producing almost no discernable upfront bitterness, a clean malty body, and a smooth finish,” says Waldmann.

Wild Mind Ales

  • Fatal Vision – Back on tap today, this double IPA features Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin CGX hops with a heavy oat bill.
  • Ideale – The 5.2% ABV Italian-style Pilsner tapped a week ago, with bright flavors and vinous notes, Wild Mind says.
  • Kaleidoscope Eyes – A foeder-aged wild ale with saison yeast and brett culture, dry-hopped with Huell Melon. 7.6% ABV.
  • Screaming Dawn – Another hazy IPA, this one pours at 6.4% ABV with an oat-heavy, soft body and juicy hop notes from the use of Mosaic, Strata, Citra, and Citra Cryo.

Wooden Hill Brewing Co.

French River – A saison with white wine and subtle grape elements. 6.5% ABV.
