About
Named after its original owner, Anthony Waldmann, our brewery and wurstery is housed in the oldest surviving commercial building in the Twin Cities—a limestone saloon built in the fall of 1857. More than a 150 years later, Waldmann once again welcomes guests with the warmth of its wood stoves and historic oil lamps. From hand-hewn woodwork to period engravings, every detail reflects the care and craftsmanship at the soul of this pre-Civil War original—including, of course, the beer and German-inspired menu featuring premises-made sausages. Using old-world horizontal fermenting techniques and noble and heritage hops, the Waldmann brewing team is making traditional German-style lagers with an approach to recipes and brewing processes that stay true to the building’s 1850s heritage.
