This Saturday, we'll be opening up the gates at CHS Field for the premier beer festival of the summer, featuring 450 unique beers and ciders to sample from 140+ breweries and cideries.
It's gonna be a blast, but to help make sure you have the most enjoyable experience possible, we've put together this Day-of Guide, which is full of useful info and pro-tips. Let's play ball, Dabblers!
Download the Beer Dabbler App (if you haven't already)
The Beer Dabbler app is overflowing with useful information, including a full map of CHS Field, parking and transit information, a complete list of participating breweries and the beers they'll be bringing with them, food vendor menus, entertainment set times.
Plus, our app is also the only way for you to vote for which brewery you think was "Best of Show," with the top vote-getter receiving our Lord Dabbler Cup!
Download it now from the App Store and Google Play.
Make a plan to get there (and get home)
CHS Field is located in Lowertown, St. Paul near Mears Park and Union Depot at 360 N Broadway St. There are several parking lots and garages in the area, and all are listed at Smart Trips, a nonprofit organization that improves access and mobility for those who travel in and around St. Paul.
As always, we strongly recommend taking alternative modes of transportation to our Dabbler events, and that’s why we’re partnering with Metro Transit to offer you a free ride to and from our festival. Click here to obtain your free Metro Transit pass!
If you'd like to drive to the Summer Beer Dabbler, our partners at DDI offer an excellent designated driver service to take you and your car home safely after the event. Click here to reserve your ride home with DDI.
Plan for the weather
The Summer Beer Dabbler is a rain-or-shine outdoor event. We recommend dressing appropriately for the temperature and conditions and hydrating as much as possible. Sealed water bottles and empty water bottles will be allowed into CHS Field, and we'll have water bottle filling stations located throughout the ballpark.
All Energy Solar will be giving away a limited number of free sunglasses while supplies last.
Be ready at the front gate for a smoother entry
- When you get to CHS Field's front gate, our first step will be to have one of our ambassadors check your ID.
- Once you’ve been carded, we’ll provide you with your wristband, sponsored by Northern Taphouse (General Admission or Designated Driver).
- After you’ve obtained your wristband, make sure your ticket is unfolded and ready to be scanned by our ambassadors. To speed up the process, we strongly recommend you purchase your tickets in advance and print them at home. If you’re using a digital ticket, please have it ready and set your screen’s brightness to maximum.
- Tickets for Summer Beer Dabbler will also be available for purchase at the St. Paul Saints' ticket booth, located near the front gate.
- If you’ve brought a bag, our security staff will search it.
- Once you’ve been cleared by our ticket scanners, our ambassadors will hand you a sampling glass and you’ll be ready to dabble!
Take your clipped wristband to Northern Taphouse's Lakeville location to receive a free order of cheese curds!
Consider an Early Access ticket to beat the rush
Early access ticketholders not only get to enter the park and begin sampling a whole hour before the rest of General Admission, they also get to use a separate entrance with much shorter lines.
Stop by one of our pre-wristbanding locations to speed up the lines
Our friends at Dark Horse, Fulton Brewing and Dual Citizen Brewing will all be hosting pre-wristbanding parties from 2:30-4:30pm on Saturday. Just bring your ticket and ID, and they'll hook you up with your Northern Taphouse-sponsored wristband before the event to save you time in line.
Don't starve! Grab a snack
As much as we sometimes wish we could subsist on beer alone, human bodies need food for sustenance, and a full stomach will be the fuel you need for more sampling fun.
CHS Field updated their food offerings for this season and you're in for a treat! Chef James Cross was inspired by the Year of the Pig in the Chinese zodiac and added a variety of new offerings like a bacon-wrapped Paul Bunyon dog and Saints Turkey Sandwich to the list of returning favorites, including chili cheese dogs, pronto pups, burgers, pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, pizza, and street tacos.
Outside food will not be allowed at CHS Field (except for snacklaces)
Rock out with our musical entertainment
