Take a St. Cloud Brewcation

Local breweries are where people hang out, where they want to be seen, where they experience local flavors at their best, and where communities form. The Greater St. Cloud area is home to several must-visit breweries, taprooms, brewhouses, cideries and brew pubs. So please, grab your growler and your 21+ ID and take a brewcation with us through Central Minnesota. (Click the names of the breweries for more information!)

Beaver Island Brewing | St. Cloud

A local favorite, Beaver Island Brewing takes pride in setting deep roots into the St. Cloud community. Home to 5 flagship brews and typically about 6 seasonals, BIBCo is a fun hangout, a great event center, and a source of pride for the area. Spend a chilly Saturday afternoon playing cribbage or a sunny summer day on the patio, and you’ll understand why. Tours are also available with advance notice, and you can often find food trucks stationed near the patio.

Pantown Brewing Company | St. Cloud

Pantown Brewing Company pays tribute to a big piece of St. Cloud history. Named for a former auto manufacturer, Pan Motor Company, who had a short run in St. Cloud, this brewery is in the Pantown neighborhood and boasts a large taproom that includes a loft and plenty of bar space. Their brews feature everything from your staple light ales to fruity, chocolatey and even one with a hint of jalapeño. The menu also includes light fare, and there is regularly live music in the taproom!

Back Shed Brewing | Waite Park

The newest member of the craft beer scene in St. Cloud, Back Shed Brewing came to life in summer of 2021 after many years of dreaming and planning. Located right next to Crafts Direct, Back Shed Brewing features an ever-rotating variety of craft beer and seltzers to suit anyone’s taste. The open, airy taproom is great for meeting up with friends and always full of laughter and cheer. Plus, the attached event space is perfect for craft workshops, seasonal events, and even private parties. Add them to your must-visit list now!

Granite City Food & Brewery | St. Cloud

Even though Granite City Food & Brewery now has over 30 locations throughout the Midwest and beyond, this St. Cloud location was the first (and thus, we believe, the best, naturally). Seasonal brews are featured throughout the year, but there are six signature beers that can be enjoyed year round. Plus, you don’t have to worry about getting the munchies mid-sipping. Granite City Food & Brewery has an extensive offering of American fare, including flatbreads, burgers, salads, sandwiches and more.

Bad Habit Brewing | St. Joseph

Located just outside of St. Cloud in St. Joseph, Bad Habit Brewing is making a name for themselves. With 7-8+ taps of rotating brews available, you’re going to have a hard time choosing just one to enjoy (good thing they offer flights). The brewing equipment is in plain sight for patrons to check out plus there are several hand-crafted sodas available for non-drinkers (or drivers). And don’t worry about those hunger pains – delicious pizza from Sliced or gourmet Italian from Bello Cucina is just a phone call and delivery to the taproom away!

Milk & Honey Ciders | St. Joseph

When you’re not exactly in the mood for a beer but you’re still craving some fresh brew, Milk & Honey Ciders is a must-visit! These local ciders are truly unique in flavor, and the experience at this remote taproom is unforgettable. We don’t blame you if you can’t stop Instagramming! Pizzas are available for sale, or you can bring in your own food, or take advantage of the food trucks that are often there. Seriously though, if you’re looking for the perfect country summer night with a tasty drink, warm fire, and stunning view – you’ve found it at Milk & Honey.

Third Street Brewhouse | Cold Spring

Third Street Brewhouse, a division of local giant Cold Spring Brewing, is the original craft beer taproom in the St. Cloud area. There are 6 year round beers on tap, as well as three rotating seasonal brews available. For the real beer-geek, tours of the massive production facility are available with reservations. So when you’re in need of a smooth Minnesota Gold lager and a relaxing patio, you know where to go.

Spilled Grain Brewhouse | Annandale

Looking for the perfect day-trip outside of St. Cloud? Look no further than Spilled Grain Brewhouse. This charming small-town brewery packs big-city flavor in their brews, plus the picturesque building and interior will make your Snapchat look on point.
